NICARAGUA MISSION TRIP 2022
June 25th – July 3rd
Overview: Porterfield Baptist Church is in the preliminary stages of planning our 2022 mission trip. We are planning to partner with our missionaries in Nicaragua, Bob and Noemi Caiazzo. Bob and Noemi work in Managua, Nicaragua. They began with feeding centers and have worked to build a mission complex that feeds children, educates them how to be sustainable for themselves, provides medical care, and shares the love of Christ.
Trip Dates: Porterfield will most likely travel from June 25-July 3rd.
Potential Ministry Opportunities:
- Door to door ministry
- Youth rallies
- Children’s day (various activities, face painting, songs, lessons, etc.)
- Women’s afternoon – bring packages with toiletries and do games and a message
- Men’s breakfast
- Preaching/teaching
Lodging Details:
- First night will be a hotel in the city.
- After that first night, we will travel to Managua facility. It is a dorm set up.
Precautionary Information:
- All food is cooked with clean water,
- It will be the rainy season, so rain boots and walking shoes with good traction.
- Sunscreen, mosquito repellant, and a hat are recommended.
- Must be in good shape. This trip will have lots of walking and hiking through mountainous terrain.
- A negative COVID test is required to enter Nicaragua and to return to the United States. All travelers must understand and accept the risk of a receiving a positive COVID test before the end of our trip. This would result in a quarantine in Nicaragua and additional expenses.

Porterfield Requirements:
- A maximum of 20 people will be accepted for the trip.
- All applicants must submit an application to the Mission Executive Team.
- Applicants under the age of 13 must make a presentation to the Mission Executive Team of how they intend to serve on the trip.
- All applicants must accept the financial responsibility of raising funds for the trip.
- All applicants must accept the associated risks with traveling to another country, especially in light of the COVID pandemic.
