New to Porterfield Baptist Church?
A friendly place!
Because God loves people, we want to reflect that love in how we treat you as our guest. We know that coming to a place that you are unfamiliar with can be both exciting and a little intimidating. We want to help you feel welcome and at ease.
What kind of people attend Porterfield?
People come to Porterfield from all walks of life and all ages, from children and teens to adults. There are factory workers, retailers, teachers, store clerks, business professionals, doctors, nurses, construction workers, students, government employees, technicians, and trades people just to name a few.
What do most people wear?
Because people come from all walks of life, you will see people at Porterfield in clothing that ranges from jeans and casual wear, to dresses and suits. We are just glad you are here to fellowship with us.
What is PBC’s Worship Style?
Because Christ is worthy of our very best, our church leadership teams strive for excellence in all our gatherings in praising and worshiping the Lord.
Our first 8:30am service is “traditional” with a choir and some hymns & choruses. Our second 11:00am service is more “modern” with a praise and worship band and songs you would hear on contemporary Christian music stations.
Messages: Each week Biblical messages are presented in an easy to understand way that help apply God’s Word for daily living.
How long does a typical worship service last?
We plan for approximately a one-hour time span for each service.
Is there an informal time where I can get to know people?
Fellowship Time with refreshments is available in our Café area after the First Service from 9:30am – 10:00am before Sunday school classes. We also have many small group meetings we call “Life Groups” as well as occasional “get to know” meetings especially for newcomers.
